  • Bill of lading filled out with release # on it
  • Mill scale official weight for payment or third party scale

All OCC must conform to the Scrap Specification Circular 2001 published by ISRI.

The maximum quantity of Overthrows is understood to be the TOTAL of the Outthrows and Prohibitive Materials.

    Prohibitives may not exceed 1%. These include but are not limited to:
  • Waxed cartons or papers
  • Plastics of any kind
  • Styrofoam
  • Wood in any form
  • Metals except bale ties holding bales together
  • Carbon papers
  • All non-paper items
  • Asphalt coated cartons
  • Carrier Stock and wet strength papers
  • Food waste in excess amounts may be cause for rejection
  • Whole cores
  • Roll-wrap headers and end caps (header stock with glue or poly)

    Outthrows may not exceed 5%. These include but are not limited to:
  • Foreign Corrugated (Asian)
  • Chip Board
  • Box Board
  • Mixed Paper
  • Newspapers
  • Coated papers such as poly, UV, and Foil

  1. Medical related waste of any type will be cause for rejection and may result in suspension of shipments
  2. All bales must be tagged and identified by the shipper name and address
  3. Bales are to be tied with steel wire only (no bands) and must have a minimum of 4 wraps and have a minimum weight of 800 lbs. Bales must not be loaded with pallets under, over, or beside them
  4. Truck loads must have a minimum net weight of 40,000 lbs. and rail cars must have a minimum net weight of 100,000 lbs. Loads not meeting these minimums will incur a deduction for light loads
  5. Each load must have a bill of laden properly filled out and must have a valid release number on the bill of laden or the load will not be unloaded
  6. Wet loads (over 10%) are subject to rejection or weight reduction at the option of the mill
  7. The mill scale weight is the official weight for payment
